HALT-COVID Louisiana is a statewide collaborative effort by the Louisiana Community Engagement Alliance Against Covid-19 Disparities (LA-CEAL). This partnership aims to provide our communities with the resources and tools needed to protect our neighborhoods, towns, cities, and parishes from the spread of COVID-19.

To foster community-level awareness and understanding regarding the coronavirus pandemic and the impact of COVID-19 on individuals, their families, and the larger community.

To expand existing COVID-19 community education resources and to meet the needs of Louisianans most impacted by COVID-19.

To support decision-making about participation in COVID-19 prevention (e.g., vaccines) and therapeutic initiatives and trials among underrepresented Louisianans.

To support timely dissemination of accurate COVID-19 information and resources for communities across Louisiana that are disproportionately affected by COVID-19.

LA CEAL is a member of an NIH-wide effort led by the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD) and the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI). CEAL research teams include NIH and other federally funded entities with community engagement expertise, non-academic community-based organizations, Federally Qualified Health Centers, and state and/or local health departments.
